A Great Blue Heron waits quietly on the edge of a waterway. Illuminated by a late winter light, golden grass is at his feet. A dreamy feel has been added to the image of this largest heron in North America. This particular bird was at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico.
Every time I try to describe what "type" of photographer I am, or what photography "means", I find the words are as fleeting as the perfect moment of light on a scene. I'm a native daughter of Michigan, now living in New Mexico. The two places are like apples and oranges. I love them both.
