This is one of the few shots I've ever done using flash photography with a backdrop. Hummingbirds are amazing little birds, and are wonderful subjects for an outdoor studio setting. This is a black chinned hummingbird, native to New Mexico.
Every time I try to describe what "type" of photographer I am, or what photography "means", I find the words are as fleeting as the perfect moment of light on a scene. I'm a native daughter of Michigan, now living in New Mexico. The two places are like apples and oranges. I love them both.
