Artist's Description

Blue flax is also known as prairie flax. Native to western north America (from Alaska through Canada to Baja California, east to the Mississippi River), Linum lewisii (scientific name) was first documented by Meriweather Lewis, for whom it is named. This grouping of wildflowers from New Mexico pleases the eye and makes a wonderful image.
