Artist's Description

Like my image "At the Foot of the Lunatic's Bed" I made this image at a historic museum. Slightly disturbing, a sense of relief that hopefully our culture has changed. This basement was the site of Michigan's Mason County Jail in the mid to late 1800's. Did they really give the prisoner a broken chair and pillow? I don't know. But it is an unnerving sight.
