There are so many aspects to a tree - leaves, roots, trunk, bark, limbs. How do you choose what to show? This cottonwood was near a stream deep in the woods, and sunlight filtered through the canopy to illuminate the bark. And I chose to show this magnificent bark furrowed with age. I know this tree sits silently in the woods no matter where I am.
