Artist's Description

A sure sign of spring in Michigan is finding the first morel mushroom. This particular beauty is barely two inches tall, the first of the season. When it's a little bigger, it'll be wonderful sautd in butter. Important sustainable fact - when picking morels, never pull it up by the root, but snip it near the base.

About Mary Lee Dereske

Mary Lee Dereske

Every time I try to describe what "type" of photographer I am, or what photography "means", I find the words are as fleeting as the perfect moment of light on a scene. I'm a native daughter of Michigan, now living in New Mexico. The two places are like apples and oranges. I love them both. In addition to the great products on this site, SIGNED custom art prints, printed to your size specification are available. Use the email link to contact me for more information. All images ⓒ Mary Lee Dereske and may not be reproduced or otherwise used without explicit permission of the artist.
