Kylemore Abbey, County Galway Ireland, is nestled against lush, green hills beneath a sky filled with low clouds. Reflecting in the calm waters of a nearby lake, the scene is serene and picturesque. This Benedictine Nunnery was built in 1868 by Mitchell Henry. The Victorian castle is open for tours. The sisters have restored a Victorian walled garden, also open for tours. About an hour north of Galway, it is well worth a visit.
