The Metolius River, located near Sisters, Oregon, is a tributary to the Deschutes River. This area is the headwaters of the river; the springs emerge from the drainage area beneath the Black Butte mountain. The river here embraces a high mountain meadow, and is flanked by evergreens and deciduous trees. This peaceful and serene summertime image has been enhanced digitally to give it an oil painting effect.
