Description
A mountain bluebird - Sialia currucoides - sits atop an old wooden fence post next to a high mountain meadow in Arizona. This male was resting, or perhaps surveying the world, in between trips to a nest he and his mate were building. The barbed wire fence borders an active cattle operation in the summer. Bluebirds are a symbol of happiness.
