Prickly Pear cacti - Opuntia robusta - blooms profusely in late spring and early summer in the arid southwestern United States. Flowers of this variety tend to yellow, but every so often, one of the plants has a tinge of deep peach or orange to it, such as this one. Flowers open in the heat of the day, and close at night.
