The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I love coming across the unexpected, and this gas pump alongside a mountain road in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado was definitely unexpected. And there was something about a broken down gas pump framed by a glorious fall day with aspen glowing on the hillsides that just seemed, well, right.
