The Big Spring in the UP is called Kitch-iti-kipi, or The Mirror of Heaven. It is a fresh water spring that is over 200 feet across and 40 feet deep near Manistique, Michigan. It is part of Palms Book State Park. The water is so incredibly clear that you can see huge lake trout swimming near the vents of the spring at the bottom of the pool. Any one who ventures to this remote area of Michigan should not miss the opportunity to see this spring. A self propelled raft allows visitors to cross the entire spring.
