Description
This is a tribute I have created to the past, to the artists who painted the walls of Pompeii. Three dried roses, each with shriveled petals and a desaturated appearance, are set against a backdrop of a Pompeii wall painting that carries the faint image of a human figure. Shadows and textures give the picture an evocative, aged look. The flowers are a tribute to a vanished city. The painting was originally photographed by Marcia Myers, a painter.
