This tiny orchid, known as the Calypso, Fairy Slipper, or Venus' orchid, is a delicate flower found in the late spring in northern and montane ecosystems. It is endangered or threatened in many parts of the world. The plant only lives for 5 years. This particular orchid was found in the northern mountains of New Mexico.
