I made this image with divergent emotions coursing through me. First, a sense of unease and disturbance at the conditions fostered on "lunatics" in the 1800's. Second, gratitude for the changes towards treatment of mental illness. This cell is located at the Lunatic Asylum at the Wood County Historical Center and Museum, Ohio.
